Archive Lounge
welcome to D.R.A
The Dusk Rail Archive is an auxillary organisation to the Duskbound Rail Union.
Active for the last 450 years, the Dusk Rail Archive primarily focusses on collecting knowledge and lore from the various worlds connected to their rail network.
Through generous donations of literature by benefactors, interviews of the world hopping travellers, as well as data collected by the D.R.A’s own Erudite field operatives; the Archive has amassed a considerable collection of stories, legends, research on invensions, ecological and political data, and so much more…
This resource is of course accessible to any who are willing to trade in turn, with information, coin or a service of their own.
The dusk domains
Dusk domains are pocket worlds existing between the known space, created as burrows or nests by Godlings as a part of their life cycle.
Once abandoned, the remnant power of the godlings attract and manifest several forms of life, there by causing these pocket worlds to have their own unique ecology bound to the power of the elder ones.
Beside being a great source of exotic materials, the biggest advantage they provide is the fact that they act as bridge between the worlds they are connected to, allowing one to travel between them through the dusk domains,
Though the dusk domains vary in size, they are nowhere near the cosmic distances that separate the worlds they bridge.
The rail network
Since the climate and ecology of the dusk domains tended to be rather hostile, Inter planetary travel in the early days of exploration, was left to monsters and humans with a reasonable level of personal arcane prowess.
But through the extensive, collaberative mapping of several dusk domains and the construction of rail lines through them, domain travel become considerably faster and safer;
expediting the research on dusk domain resources as well as interplatary communication.
The Dusk bound Rail Union stood as one of the first truly multiplanetary organisations and became a foundation for all future ventures into the vast unknown.
Archivist's note
The ‘Dusk Rail Archive’ is a writing and world building project primarily acting as a canvas and outlet for me to make art in.
This mainly involves short stories and illustrations, but it will also include the occasional long form story and forays into the video format.
The setting itself is one of fantasy with variations depending on the exact location the story takes place in, as well as of course the intended tone of the story.
I’m a film and design graduate, and a TTRPG nerd with a penchant for writing fantasy, either for prose, film scripts or for my own dnd home games.
As much as I would like to tell you more, I’m discovering these worlds myself, one Google doc file, filled diary and lost sketchbook at a time. Want to learn more? Well, stick around!
